All-inclusive in the Maldives is a genuinely useful category — when the word means something.
What surprises most clients is the gap between what the label promises and what the booking actually covers. Seaplane transfers are almost always extra. Government tax (16% GST), service charge (10%), and the Green Tax (USD 12 per person per night) sit on top of every all-inclusive rate. Signature restaurants often have a one-visit policy or limited-seats restriction. Festive gala dinners on 24 and 31 December carry mandatory supplements of USD 350–900 per adult — regardless of plan. And spa credits, where included, are usually one session per stay, not unlimited access. We tell you this before you book, because the resort usually doesn't.
